A research by the Kenya Association of Pharmaceutical Industry (KAPI) and the University of Nairobi’s (UoN) School of Pharmacy has revealed that Kenya is at risk from unregulated drugs.

According to the findings of the research, Kenyans could be taking stale or counterfeit medicines.

The workshop was to plan for grant activities on antimicrobial stewardship and non-communicable diseases for the Newton Grant recipients at University of Strathclyde Glasgow UK.

Dr Opanga stayed on for a further two weeks in Glasgow, where she attended meetings with the NHS and the Farr Research Group; and participated in ward rounds at Queen Elizabeth hospital and several pharmacist led clinics
